Description
The "Customer-Managed Confluent Platform for Confluent Cloud" (CP for CC) subscription is for customers who need to bridge feature and deployment gaps that are not yet met by fully-managed services in Confluent Cloud.
Effective October 1, 2025, we are introducing a new Enterprise license key for the "Customer-Managed Confluent Platform for Confluent Cloud" subscription. This license key allows you to use self-managed Confluent Platform components exclusively with Confluent Cloud services.
Applies To
This applies to Confluent Cloud customers who use or will use self-managed Confluent Platform components.
This does not apply to you if you use Confluent Platform only.
Resolution
If you have an existing "Customer-Managed Confluent Platform for Confluent Cloud" subscription or plan to sign up for it, you will receive a new Enterprise license key.
What do you need to do?
- Configure the new license key before your existing license key (if any) expires (recommended) or at least within 30 days after your previous subscription ends.
- While configuring the new license key, the following prerequisites must be met:
- Ensure your Confluent Platform components are correctly configured with Confluent Cloud brokers.
- Upgrade to the minimum patch version before configuring the new license key. Not doing so will cause the license key update to fail.
- Note: Your Confluent Platform components will continue to function with your existing license key for additional 30 days after your previous subscription ends.
