Applies To
Confluent Cloud Environments containing clusters with Private Networking and located in "Stream Governance Essentials" regions
Description
On November 1, 2023 Confluent is automatically enabling the "Stream Governance Essentials" package in environments containing clusters with Private Networking. This will allow users to maintain Stream Quality, enable self-service data discovery with the Stream Catalog, and uncover insights with interactive end-to-end maps of event streams with Stream Lineage. This is being provided free of charge.
Additionally, Stream Governance enables customers to take advantage of a new opt-in capability called Resource Metadata Access, which allows you to view Kafka resources, such as Kafka Topics metadata, for clusters with private networking in the Confluent Cloud Console.
The Stream Governance cluster will be enabled in the same region as the oldest Kafka cluster within the Confluent Cloud Environment.
